print version

A poster session will take place during (extended) lunch time. Eight posters are selected for oral presentation during one of the four sessions. Selection for poster and oral presentation is based on the abstracts submitted by participants.

All abstracts must be submitted

All abstracts must be submitted in (British) English. Abstracts should be structured and contain concise statements of:

  • Background - study objectives, hypothesis to be tested, or description of the problem
  • Methods - method(s) used or approach taken
  • Results - specific results in summarized form (statistical analysis when appropriate)
  • Conclusions - description of the main outcome of the study.

 Furthermore

  • Abstracts can only be submitted online; those submitted by fax, post or e-mail will not be considered.
  • No modifications can be made once the abstract has been submitted.
  • The abstract text should not exceed 430 words, tables and graphs can not be included.
  • It is the author's responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.
  • If you have any questions regarding your abstract submission, please contact the registration office at registration@nchiv.org, phone +31 20 566 8585.
  • The abstract topic/theme is the general heading under which your abstract will be reviewed and later published in the conference printed matters if accepted. Please choose the topic which best describes the subject of your abstract.

Abstract submission
Abstracts will not be accepted after 14th of September.

Notification of Acceptance or Rejection
Notification of acceptance or rejection is sent to the presenting author by mid October 2009. Please note that the presenting author who receives mail concerning the abstract, is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted have received instructions for the presentation of their abstract.

Abstract Blinding and Review
All submitted abstracts go through a blind peer-review process carried out by the organising committee.

Rule of Two
Each presenting author may present a maximum of two abstracts at the conference.

Publication policy
Your abstract, if accepted, will appear in the abstract book and on the NCHIV2009 website. In addition, all participants to NCHIV2009 receive a final programme which contains the conference programme and a list of all oral and poster abstract presentations.
