The Royal Tropical Institute (KIT - www.kit.nl) in Amsterdam works toward sustainable development and poverty alleviation. KIT is active all over the world. Its work is diverse: researching tropical diseases, capacity development activities, providing management advice to farmers' cooperatives in Africa, organizing courses about tropical medicine for doctors. KIT's Tropenmuseum and Tropentheater show far-away countries and other cultures. KIT's activities all focus on sharing knowledge. The World Health Organisation (WHO) designated KIT as a strategic Centre of Expertise.
KIT also has a special Programme on HIV/AIDS to strengthen decision-makers, communities and organizations to effectively reduce the spread and impact of HIV/AIDS. KIT Biomedical Research performs research activities in the field of HIV that aim to provide insights and tools that are important for the surveillance and monitoring of HIV.
Therefore, KIT provides the perfect setting for the third Netherlands Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Prevention and Treatment. The organising committee is very pleased to use the large conference room at the Royal Tropical Institute at Tuesday 24 November.
